Privacy Policy
The Short Version
FeeCalc runs entirely on your device. Every fee calculation happens in your browser — nothing is sent to a server, ever. We don't require an account, we don't use cookies in the extension, and we don't sell or share your data with anyone.
That said, we're not going to pretend we store literally nothing. The extension saves a small amount of data locally to make your experience better. Here's exactly what that means.
What the Chrome Extension Stores
The FeeCalc extension uses chrome.storage.local — a local-only storage API that keeps data on your device and never transmits it anywhere. Here's what it saves and why:
All of this stays on your machine. It is never sent to FeeCalc, never sent to any third party, and never leaves your browser. You can clear it anytime by clicking "Clear All History" in the extension's history panel, or by removing the extension entirely.
What the Extension Does NOT Do
To be completely clear:
No account or login required.
No cookies set by the extension.
No analytics or tracking in the extension.
No network requests — the extension works entirely offline.
No browsing history, purchase data, or personal information collected.
No data sold or shared with third parties — ever.
What the Website Collects
The FeeCalc website at feecalc.io uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate traffic — things like how many people visit, which pages are popular, and what countries visitors come from. This is standard web analytics and helps us know which platform calculators to prioritize.
GA4 does not collect names, emails, or any personally identifiable information through our implementation. We don't use remarketing, advertising cookies, or any tracking beyond basic page views.
Affiliate Links
FeeCalc includes links to selling platforms (eBay, Amazon, Etsy, TCGPlayer, and others). Some of these are affiliate or referral links — when you sign up for a platform through one of these links, FeeCalc may earn a commission.
This never affects the accuracy of our fee calculations. The fee math is the same whether you click an affiliate link or not. The numbers come from official platform documentation, not from affiliate partnerships.
Chrome Web Store Permissions
FeeCalc requests one permission: storage. This is the chrome.storage.local API described above — it allows the extension to remember your last tab, restore recent input values, and keep a short session history. That's it. No other permissions are requested or needed.
Your Control
You can delete all locally stored data at any time:
Extension data: Click "History" in the extension header, then "Clear All History." Or simply remove the extension from Chrome — all data is deleted automatically.
Website analytics: Use any standard ad blocker or disable JavaScript. GA4 respects Do Not Track headers and browser-level privacy settings.
Changes to This Policy
If we change what data we store or how we use it, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date at the top. FeeCalc is a solo project — there's no legal team writing loopholes. What you read here is what we do.
